Healthy food that is hindering your weight loss goals

I talk to women all day and I hear, “I am eating clean, I don’t get why I’m not seeing results. I am still bloated!”

It’s beyond frustrating when you have been putting in hard work, eating clean and still not seeing results. I have been there so I totally get it. One thing I realized after struggling for years is the fact that a lot of things that we think are healthy are actually  holding us back.

They are packed with hidden crap and destroying our progress.

3 common ones to drop now!

  • Dried Fruit:  Fresh or frozen fruit are always the best routes to go. The sugar alcohol in it causes bloating.
  • Flavored Nuts: Roasted and salted are a great option but once you get into all the crazy flavors, lots of hidden sugar in them which can turn into fat and yeah, we don’t wan that on our health and fitness journey.
  • Protein Bars: Most protein bars are highly processed. Super high in carbs, sugar alcohol and usually don’t leave you feeling super full. I would recommend making your own.

If you are in a bind or craving one of these foods, go for it but don’t get in the habit of having it daily. I wanted to share these because these tricky little things can be messing with your results and I don’t want that for you.

Some other foods, that hold us back from seeing results or leaving us bloated is all the processed crap. A lot of time women believe they can’t have carbs but it’s actually processed carbs you need to watch out for like bread, pasta, cake and all that good stuff. Try to minimize these foods to 2-3 times a week.

Foods to add in to flush your system…

  • Berries
  • Grapefruit
  • Lemon
  • Kale or spinach
  • Asparagus
  • Cucumber
  • Celery
  • Bell Pepper
  • Onion
  • Sweet Potato
  • Black Bean
  • Lean protein
  • WATER (can’t stress this enough)

Sticking to the outside isles in the grocery store are an easy way to shop for what is best for you. The isle are packed with processed crap that won’t aid in your weight loss journey. Oh and a side note since most women suffer with hypothyroidism, be sure you don’t overdue it with the leafy greens. It can actually cause you to gain weight.
