Is diet or exercise more important?

I hear people say diet is way more important than exercise all the time.

But I beg to differ. I believe they are equally important and I will tell you why!

Dieting: meaning your eating habits is important. You want to make sure you are fueling your body with foods that make you feel good. Let’s face it, if you are eating like crap, you will probably be groggy, bloated and not motivated what so ever. So cleaning up the eating habits will help you get more energy, feel better, sleep better and probably more motivation to go get your body moving. Right?

A lot of people hear diet and automatically believe they need to be on an insane diet. Restricting everything but protein. haha and that’s just not right. That is exactly why people fall off so easily. I have seen way more success by teaching people how to eat the right foods for them then any other “diet” in the world. I can teach you too just click here!

But back to what I was saying, you need to find that balance for you! Don’t just copy what other people do because you see them have success on it. Our bodies and needs are all different. No one size fits all when it comes to diet or fitness which leads me to my next topics…

exercise..

I believe this is just as important as getting your food dialed in. If you only “diet” and don’t exercise, you won’t shape your body and that will leave you feeling like crap about yourself.

Exercise helps mentally and physically.

If you are feeling stressed out and go take it out on the gym instead of a beer, that will help you feel better about a decision you just made and reduce stress as you clear your mind. I always start my day with the gym. It is my “me” time. I am working on myself to be better, it helps me get into my creative mode and helps me understand myself more so I can better serve other people.

As you watch your body change, your confidence will be better. You will feel good, your clothes will fit good and you will notice how much happier you become over these changes. So that is why, I say both are important. If you are just starting out on this journey and don’t know if you should focus on diet or exercise… I say both and don’t overwhelm yourself!

If cleaning up your diet means no more Taco Bell every day then start with that and starting with exercise, feel free to just start walking! It is better to start with these steps and get in the habit of being mindful of what you’re eating and how you are treating your body. If you struggle with stepping up goals and feel overwhelmed, check out this blog, I have on goal setting.
