So many people think carbs make you fat but thats not true…
It just depends on what type of carbs you are eating. There is a proper time for “good” carbs and a strategic way of eating “bad” carbs and making them work to your advantage.
You also have to keep in mind that we are all different. Some of us run better on fat as an energy source and some of us run better on glucose (carbs) for an energy source.
I personally run better on glucose (carbs) as an energy source. I have always known this but I do like to try different diets to see how my body reacts. I also try different stuff so I can speak from experience not judgment with my clients.
So let me tell you about this little switch up I did recently that helped me drop some stubborn fat.
I was eating lots of fat and noticed I was carrying a little more weight around than usual.
I want to be clear, I wasn’t doing kept but just love snacking on nuts and nut butters and it definitely started to show. haha I naturally will pull back on carbs if my fats are high.
With this realization, I decided to up my carbs and get my favorite fatty snacks out of the house.
When I did this, I instantly dropped weight.
That week, I dropped about 3lbs! I had better energy, better sleep and killed my workouts which led to better results!
A lot of people ask how this happens…
How can you eat carbs and lose weight!?
This goes back to what I was saying earlier.
Some of us run better on fats as energy, some of us run better on glucose as energy. This is why I tell people don’t get discouraged just because some trendy new diet didn’t work out for you.
- Diets suck. They are hard to stick to for long term success. With that being said… I do believe for short term success they are great but be sure you get off your diet properly so the weight doesn’t come packing on.
- We are all different! I can’t stress this enough. Just because one thing worked for me, doesn’t mean it will work for you.
- Carbs are our friend! So many people want to pull carbs out the second they want to drop weight. I agree that processed carbs should be pulled back on when trying to drop weight but not completely out. Those naughty, yummy carbs are great to eat once a week to really shock our metabolism and keep it running smoothly.
